The government of the Philippines, Southeast Asia, is on the cusp of sealing a partnership with the European Union’s Copernicus Earth observation programme for a series of pilot projects spanning three years.

Through this partnership, the government of the Philippines would gain unlimited access to Copernicus Earth’s raw observation data from satellites, ground sensors and sea buoys.

In turn, not only is the government able to monitor deforestation and coastal erosion for better forest and coastal management, it can also enhance its disaster response.
