Science education company PASCO and Indonesia’s National Space Agency (LAPAN) are researching the use of satellite data to improve paddy field management.

This is achieved through the introduction of AI technology, such that satellite data analysis is more efficient. Research garnered from this project will be used to enhance paddy field maps, planning waterways and paddy field management. This coheres with LAPAN’s larger goal of providing governments in Southeast Asia with satellite data concerning natural hazards, sea-level rise and illegal maritime activity in near real time.
