Indonesia’s rice production is projected to increase by 1 percent, or 314.10 thousand tons, to reach 31.63 million tons this year from 31.31 million tons a year ago, according to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

Since 2018, BPS has been working with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), the Agrarian and Spatial Layout Ministry/National Land Agency (BPN), the Information and Geospatial Agency (BIG), and the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) to improve the method of calculating the area under harvested rice fields using an area sample frame (KSA) method.
